The entire village of Arrow Rock has been designated a National Historic Landmark recognizing its association with Westward Expansion, the Santa Fe Trail and artist George Caleb Bingham.

KANSAS CITY ZOO #1














The Kansas City Zoo is one of sixty Zoos honored in “America’s Best Zoos 2008,” and was ranked number one in the nation for “African Animals and Exhibits,” and ranked in top 10 in the nation for “Australian Animals and Exhibits” and for “Pachyderms: Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos,” In addition, famed ape expert Jane Goodall’s complimented that Kansas City has “one of the finest chimpanzee exhibits in North America.” In fact, “America’s Best Zoos 2008” ranks the Kansas City Zoo as the number one zoo in the nation to see both chimpanzees and kangaroos.

Home to the Liberty Memorial and National World War I Museum, this 130-acre park holds great historic significance. Developed in 1904 on land through which the Santa Fe Trail had passed, the grounds are home to commemorative statues such as The Scout, the Pioneer Mother Memorial and The Hiker.

Loose Park is one of Kansas City's most beautiful parks. The park is home to a lake, a shelter house, Civil War markers, tennis courts, a wading pool, picnic areas and the famous Rose Garden. The Rose Garden is popular for all types of outdoor special events including theatrical performances and wedding ceremonies.
