In the Flint Hills

Cottonwood Fall, Ks:  Situated in the heart of the Flint Hills, Cottonwood Falls serves as the County Seat of Chase County. The Chase County Courthouse forms the center of the town, at the end of Broadway, the town's main street. A brick street so wide you can turn a horse-drawn carriage around on it, Broadway boasts dozens of places to go, including shops, galleries, restaurants, and a hotel. Stay in Cottonwood Falls as the jumping off point for your visit to Chase County and the Flint Hills.

Powell Gardens' history dates to 1948, when the land was purchased by George E. Powell, Sr. This 915-acre tract of land has served as a dairy farm, Boy Scout camp, an agricultural and natural resource center, and since 1988, a botanical garden.
